AGT Sciences Nanagel® nano-particle technology has achieved remarkable success in dissolving a range of difficult to dissolve APIs.

Of particular note are a wide range of low solubility azole drugs, for example Itraconazole, an anti-fungal drug, which has an aqueous solubility of 1ng/ml. This can be obtained at a concentration of 1mg/ml in a 0.5% Nanagel formulation.

A further example is that of a widely used nebulisable drug for the treatment of pulmonary infections, Pulmicort®, which is supplied as a suspension at a ‘concentration’ of 0.5mg/ml. The AGTSciences nanagel formulation can provide a nebulisable formulation of the API at a concentration 40 times greater, which nebulises in half the time and is superior in suppressing the inflammatory response of epithelial lung cells
